What once began as a ski resort is now a popular year-round adventure mountain - with a toboggan run, rope park, zipline and far-reaching views. Pradaschier is a place full of pioneering spirit, regional roots and new ideas.
Milestones

1820s
The connection
With the expansion of today's main road 3 from Chur to Castasegna, the region becomes accessible - the first inns are built and tourism awakens.
Mid 19th century
Churwalden becomes a climatic health resort
The first official ski course in Switzerland starts in Lenzerheide in 1903.


1962
New chapter
Opening of the steepest drag lift in Switzerland to Alp Stätz - the beginning of the winter sports era in Churwalden.
1965
Setting the course
Conversion to a chairlift and foundation of Stätzerhorn Ski- und Sessellift AG - expansion of the ski region.


1968
Pradaschier - Churwalden
With the new axis to Pargitsch, the current Pradaschier - Churwalden sector becomes part of the ski arena.
1999
Key moment
Foundation of Pradaschier AG by a local interest group - rescue and continued operation of the facilities.


2000
Growth of the toboggan run
Construction of the longest toboggan run in the world at the time - 3,060 meters, 31 bends, a new crowd-puller is created.
2013/2014
Arosa Lenzerheide merger
Churwalden becomes the central gateway to the new ski area.


2014
Takeover by investor Luzi Bergamin
New impetus, targeted investments, expansion of the summer offer.
2015
Gateway to the mountain
Opening of the Portal restaurant and the Heidbüelbahn - the entrance portal becomes the new meeting point.


2021
Growth of the zipline
The first zipline in the canton of Graubünden is opened - Pradaschier remains a pioneer for alpine adventures.
